THE AFTER-CARE

Your artist only does half the job, following strict after care instructions is crucial to how well your brows will heal. Please read and follow everything thoroughly!

  • Healing will be different for each client and healed results will also vary. A lot of aspects such as following correct after-care, medical conditions and your lifestyle, will affect how your semi-permanent makeup will heal.

  • Your artist will provide you with an aftercare bag which will include the following: gentle skin cleanser, after-care ointment, and an after-care instruction card. Please wash your hands thoroughly before doing any after-care. Infection prevention is the most important.

  • NO working out, heavy sweating, tanning, sun exposure until fully healed.

  • NO soaps, moisturizer, makeup, creams or sunscreen on treated until fully healed. Only use the two products that your artist provides you with.

  • DO NOT touch the treated area or pick at dry flaky skin/scabs. Please also keep your hair pulled back and away from your face while healing.

  • AVOID all contact with water on your face in the shower. If you can, take a bath instead. While washing your hair, make sure your back is turned against the water stream and you tilt your head backwards, avoiding soap and water to drip down your face.

  • AVOID laser hair removal, threading, waxing, tinting, etc, until treated area is fully healed.

  • AVOID any type of steam for 2 weeks during healing. This means no hot steamy showers, as well as keeping your face far back to avoid steam while cooking.

  • Your artist will instruct you on when and how long to wash the treated area for, with the provided cleanser. After this, you are to keep the area completely dry for 7-14 days while they heal. Please also use a new q-tip every time you apply your ointment. Treat the area like an open wound and do not re-use paper towels or q-tips, to prevent infection.

  • Put on a fresh clean pillow case when you get home from your appointment, changing it again mid-way through healing. It is important to keep the area germ free. Sleep on your back while healing, avoiding the brows or lips from pressing against your pillow.

  • Even after your brows heal, avoiding harsh chemical peels and exfoliation on the brow area is important to longer lasting results.

  • If you get laser hair removal on your face, please let you technician know that you have a semi-permanent brow or lip tattoo. Ask them to put a towel over that area to avoid the laser rays to alter or fade the pigment.

  • Once FULLY healed, please wear sunscreen on your semi-permanent makeup to help make it last longer and avoid fading.

  • Please refer below to see the various stages you will go through in the next 7-14 days.

Perfect brows don’t happen over night, trust the process!

What you may notice in the next 7-14 days:

  • Any swelling or redness is completely normal and should reside within 24hrs.

  • Day 1-5 your brows will begin to get very dark, this it not how they will look once healed. It’s all apart of the healing process!

  • Around day 5-14, the brows will begin to scab and peel. For some, this process may be a little longer. The scabs will fall off in random pieces throughout the brow, making it look patchy. Please make sure the scabs do not fall off prematurely by picking or touching, the longer they stay on, the better colour retention you will get.

  • Once all the scabs have fallen off, the brows may look very light. Once your skin underneath heals and rejuvenates itself, the colour will fully come back around the 1 month mark.

  • 6-8 weeks after your initial appointment, you can come back in for your touch-up appointment.

  • You will notice that brows may shrink a little and fade approximately 30-50%. This is completely normal. Do not feel discouraged if the fading is more than you expected. To achieve the perfect brows, we need to see how your skin accepts the initial application.

  • Perfect brows are a two step-process in which we'll go over any imperfections during your touch-up appointment. The true colour and size can not be determined until they fully heal after your touch-up.

  • After the second touch-up, most clients will come back every 8-24 months to freshen up the brow colour. Certain medical conditions, oily skin, and not following the aftercare can result in bad retention, meaning you may have to come for more frequent touch-ups.
